Rizzoli Bookstore opened a new flagship location this past spring at 1133 Broadway between 25th and 26th Streets in the NoMad neighborhood of New York City. As a child I loved going to Rizzoli, and I still remember the excitement I felt when my mother agreed to buy me a large hardcover book called The Literary Life and Other Curiosities, A Compendium of Facts and Fictions about Writers and Writing, Books and Blurbs, Arts and Letters by Robert Hendrickson, which I still treasure. The new location is 5,000 square feet and contains the elegant and extravagant wooden bookcases and cast iron chandeliers from the previous 57th Street location. Rizzoli Bookstore’s other location is in Milan.
